I have appeared as a judge at many food contest including a chili cookoff, The Nuggets gigantic rib cookoff in Sparks, Nevada, a dessert tasting for Quady wines and as a judge, several times, at an oyster shucking.

I have given speeches to social groups, like the Lions' Club, Elks and several womens' groups.

For visitors, I often do a talk about SF restaurants, giving background and menu information.

At the Alameda County Fair, I did a talk on the "History of California food from the Ohlone Indians to the present time." That talk includes tastes from historical and contemporary recipes.
